SteelersTV’s KidsZoneâ„¢ and SCH shoot R/C Segment. Ben Roethlisberger and other rookies compete with local children at the Carnegie Science Center’s SportsWorks next to Heinz Field.
Steel City Hobbies joins the Pittsburgh Steelers and SteelersTV
Steel City Hobbies shoots a second segment with the Pittsburgh Steelers and SteelersTV. Steel City Hobbies uses Team Losi’s Mini-T as the car of choice, although the Traxxas E-Maxx was on hand to do some R/C car crushing!
Look for the segment to air on January 2nd on UPN.
There was great R/C action with a few of the Steelers
including Ben Roethlisberger showing his driving skills with the Mini-T!
The players helped the kids drive the R/C cars around a make-shift
road course made up with cones.
Rick Fairbend and Mike discuss the next shot.
Not bad for rookie drivers! (Pun intended?)
Here Ben shows his talent on the track and actually is heading in the right direction,
proving that he too is a good driver! (note the white Mini-T) We had to pry this
car from Ben’s hands at the end of the show! Nice driving!
On with the games. TV Crews along with players with kids get ready for the basketball shoot.
The last segment of the night was the R/C racing! This guy is ready!

Here is the aftermath of some of the racing…
Behind the scenes – Dave Steiner keeps the show rolling as well as Heinz Field on game day.

Ben signs a body painted by Tony Palmerine, SCH’s painter who worked
until 4:00am on this body to get it finished for the show. Owner Mike Rooney
had the body autographed and gave it to Tony for his efforts. Thanks Tony!
NitroMike thanking Ben Roethlisberger for a great night. The SCH crew delivered
four “Roethlisberger” sandwiches by Peppi’s, which was Ben’s 1st ever! Thanks
to Peppi’s on the North Side, Western Avenue for the great food!
