RC Alley is the place you will find the most hard-core R/C racer in Western Pennsylvania. These guys (and ladies) will do just about anything to pull together a club to race R/C cars and trucks. RC Alley was called RC Avenue – which is located next door to Latrobe in a town called Bradenville, PA. Neil Tackett has resumed ownership and is continuing racing every Friday night starting at 7:00 PM.
R/C Alley runs oval and road course. Although, they will run ANYTHING that has an antenna and a *few wheels. It is great fun.
R/C Monster Truck racing is one of the big attractions!
The unique thing about this track is that it is still a mushroom farm/facility where mushroom processing occurs daily. Back in the old days they would grow mushrooms on a multi-level table system. From the pictures, one of the rooms was transformed into a R/C racing facility. It was a tremendous effort by many to convert something from nothing.
Back to the grass roots of R/C racing – where FUN is a priority! Check out the Mushroom Farm racing at R/C Alley! More pictures.
R/C Driver did a story on the Steelers Super Truck this year. Owner Mike Rooney had been wanting to do a Steelers Theme Truck for years. It was not until Mike saw someone else doing it – “Hardcore Racing”, which is a leading aftermarket parts company that supplies high-end metal replacements. Mike phoned up Damon, the owner of Hardcore Racing, and together they designed a very cool truck. Mike unveiled this at Superbowl XL two years ago – and since then it has been featured in a few stories such as this one in “RC Driver”.

This Steelers Theme Truck was unveiled at Super Bowl XL – Steelers Vs. Seahawks game in 2005. For more pictures, check out: Photo Library
The truck pictured here is one of three – and is for sale and on display at Steel City Hobbies.
Saturday, December 1, 2007 was the make up date for the 1st attempt back around Halloween. Some say this race should have been a Christmas Theme instead of Halloween. The day started when the doors opened early – before 8:00am.
Tony Palmerine was the Race Director for the Nationals this year. A job done well!
