Mini of Pittsburgh and Steel City Hobbies team up at this year’s Vintage Grand Prix in Pittsburgh, PA. SCH is very happy to participate in this year’s Vintage Grand Prix located in Schenley Park, Pittsburgh.

This is Saturday, July 15, 2006 and Mini of Pittsburgh invited Steel City Hobbies to come out to Schenley Park to help raise money for the Autism Society of Pittsburgh and Allegheny Valley School by offering a chance to race R/C cars and buy Steelers T-Shirts. 100% of the profits will go towards this charity. The day was a huge success. In the morning the crew arrived at about 8:45am with scattered light rain showers. The forecast called for this light rain and for it to clear up to become near 90º with high humidity. Needless to say, we brought a LOT of water and refreshments to keep us hydrated. SCH set up a race course and a safe zone for the helicopter and plane flying.

The day was great. That is the bottom line. The food was unbelievable at the Mini booth. The people were fantastic and the racing, car show and atmosphere were top notch. Everyone at SCH thanks Bill Schmitt of Mini of Pittsburgh, P&W Motorcars, the Vintage Grand Prix crew, Ron Osinski, Pete Rivers, John Price, John’s son, Nitro Mike Whittington, SueRoo and her boys Jack and Kyle, Mark Capobres (who took most of the pictures below), Nick Egar and Maniac Magazine and everyone else who made the day a success!
