Operation: High-Tek Flat-Track
No Club R/C Racing in May due to construction of a new track. Flying on Tuesdays is still on the regular schedule.
S.C.H. will be building a longer, wider and flatter R/C Carpet track in the very near future. SCH plans on upping the track from 90′x36′ to 92′x40′ as well as building a sub floor to make it a very smooth and flat racing surface. The Drivers Stand will move across the room and the race directors position will be moved to the corner end to give a birds eye view. The electronics will be updated with the latest from AMB which is called the AMBrc-2. This will enable racers with personal transponders to check their practice and race times on the internet almost instantly.
Other technical updates are speed traps down to the racing information being displayed on half a dozen TV monitors throughout the facility. Lastly, wireless internet may be an option so you can surf the net and view your results from your pit. “This has been a state-of-the-art facility from the beginning.” says owner Michael Rooney. “To keep up with the times and to be competitive, you have to be on the bleeding edge.” Track construction started on May 1st of 2007.
